Known simply as “Baselt”, it remains a staple in laboratories around the world and, not surprisingly, is referenced frequently by many practitioners including, but not limited to, toxicologists, physicians, pathologists and attorneys. The textbook is a comprehensive continuation of astonishing work dating back four decades to its first publication in 1978. Since the first edition, the number of monographs has increased substantially from approximately 250 substances to more than 2,000 in the twelfth edition, each with detailed descriptions pertaining to occurrence and usage, blood concentrations, metabolism, excretion, toxicity and analysis.
